FOR CHILDREN’S PRIMARY EDUCATION

Charitable organization

Treasure is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland. It’s aim is to promote and support children’s primary education and health in developing countries and in regions affected by war, natural disasters and diseases.

Education

It is our responsibility that every child should know how to read, write and count, regardless of his origins, social background or level of wealth. Children’s basic needs, such as food and having a safe place to live, are necessary to give every being an equal right to freedom, opportunities and safety.

... fights poverty

Lack of education is one of the main reasons for poverty. Main households managing on a surviving level, will have their children work to contribute to their family income. This will forbid the children from getting a basic scholar education. When in their turn they will become parents, this unfortunate pattern will repeat. This vicious circle is hard to break without our help.

... fights children abuse

The non respect of children’s right is widely know of. By providing a basic education, we allow children to simply know their rights and that the latter need to be respected. We give them the means, knowledge and ability to fight and defend themselves and their surroundings.

Today

In most countries, it is compulsory for children to receive primary education, though in many jurisdiction it is not permissible for parents to provide it.  Free primary school for all children is a fundamental right to which governments committed themselves under the 1989 Convention of the Right of Child.

But still over 20% of children aged between 6 and 11 years old do not have access to education. Among those 125 million of children, 75% are girls.

Our responsibility

Education is to be the first step in a nation-building. To provide primary education to children, without violating the local social customs and family traditions, reduces poverty, fights against children abuse, promotes concern for the environment and is inextricably linked to gender parity, as universal primary education by definition requires gender parity.
